Memory Lane
For more than six decades, the Ann Arbor High School Class of 1963 has stayed connected through reunions, annual gatherings, monthly luncheons, newsletters, shared memories, and the steady work of classmates who cared enough to keep the class together.
Our early milestone reunions began years ago and continued through the 35th, 50th, 55th, 60th, and finally our 62nd Reunion Get Together on August 1, 2025. That 62nd reunion marked the end of our large planned reunion events, but not the end of our class connection.
Along the way, we gathered to remember high school days, reconnect with old friends, share stories, honor teachers, celebrate classmates’ lives, and keep track of one another through the years.
30th Reunion – Rediscovering One Another
The 30th reunion marked one of the first major opportunities for classmates to reconnect after many years apart. There was a strong sense of rediscovery – classmates recognizing one another, sharing life stories, and reconnecting with friendships that had once been part of everyday life.
The tone of the gathering was one of curiosity and warmth – the beginning of a renewed connection that would continue for decades.
35th Reunion – Picking Up Where We Left Off
By the 35th reunion, something had changed. What began as rediscovery had become something more familiar and comfortable.
Classmates no longer felt like long-lost acquaintances – instead, it felt like picking up conversations that had simply been paused. The 35th reunion reflected a growing sense of tradition and connection – the realization that these gatherings would continue to matter.
50th Reunion – A Milestone of Reflection and Gratitude
The 50th reunion marked a major milestone. By this point, the Class of 1963 had shared decades of life experiences, and the gathering carried a deeper sense of reflection and appreciation.
There was also a greater awareness of time – and the importance of staying connected. The 50th reunion was both celebratory and meaningful – a time to reflect on the past and appreciate the enduring bond of the class.
55th Reunion — Continuing the Tradition
The 55th reunion brought classmates together once again, continuing the tradition that had grown stronger over the years. Held at Travis Pointe Country Club, the gathering provided a relaxed and welcoming setting for reconnecting with familiar faces.
By this point, the reunions had become more than occasional events — they were something classmates looked forward to. Conversations picked up easily, friendships felt well-established, and the sense of shared history was stronger than ever.
The 55th reunion reflected a comfortable rhythm — a time to catch up, share stories, and enjoy being together, while continuing a tradition that had become an important part of staying connected.
60th Reunion – Looking Back Together

The 60th reunion brought a new dimension to Memory Lane – a shared reflection on the time and place that shaped the Class of 1963.
A highlight of the gathering was a special presentation by Ed Krasny, a longtime local radio personality, who brought classmates back to the Ann Arbor of the early 1960s through stories, humor, and vivid recollections.
The presentation reminded everyone that they did not just share a school – they shared a moment in time, a community, and a set of experiences that stayed with them throughout their lives.
The 60th reunion carried a tone of reflection, appreciation, and shared history – bringing classmates together not just to reconnect, but to remember together.
62nd Reunion – A Final Gathering
The 62nd reunion gathering on August 1, 2025 brought the journey of organized class reunions to a meaningful close.
It was not just another event, but a moment to reflect on more than six decades of shared history – from classrooms in 1963 to lives lived across the country and beyond. Classmates came together one more time to reconnect, share stories, and appreciate the friendships that had endured through the years.
There was a quiet understanding throughout the gathering that this would be the final large reunion – and that made the time together all the more meaningful. In many ways, the 62nd reunion felt like a full circle moment – a chance to celebrate not just where we started, but everything that followed.
While the organized reunions may have come to an end, the connections remain – carried forward through friendships, memories, and the continued efforts to stay in touch.
Annual Events and Monthly Luncheons
Between the major reunions, the Class of 1963 kept the spirit of connection alive through annual events and monthly luncheons. From 2010 through 2024, classmates gathered for eight annual events at various venues around the Ann Arbor area, creating many more opportunities to reconnect, visit, share stories, and enjoy time together.
Alongside these events, monthly luncheons became a long-standing and much-loved tradition. For many years, small groups of local classmates met for informal and enjoyable lunches — first at Weber’s and later at the Alpha Diner. These gatherings provided a simple and consistent way to stay in touch, catch up on life, and maintain friendships between larger events.
These gatherings may have been smaller and less formal than the milestone reunions, but they became an important part of our class tradition. While there may not always have been cameras present, the conversations, laughter, and camaraderie shared at these lunches were just as meaningful.
Many photos from these annual events are available on our Photo Gallery page.
Remembering Classmates
An important part of staying connected over the years has been remembering and honoring classmates who are no longer with us. Through our newsletters and website, we have shared notices and remembrances that help us recognize the lives and contributions of those we have lost.
An In Memory list is maintained on the home page, where classmates can view those who have passed, and in many cases read profiles that the classmates had shared.
If you become aware of a classmate’s passing or have information about services or remembrances that should be shared, please notify the alumni committee at:
Keeping one another informed allows us to honor our classmates and ensure they remain part of our shared history.
Share Your Memories
We invite classmates to share their memories, stories, and reflections.
Whether it’s a reunion moment, a favorite teacher, or a simple memory from years past — we’d love to hear from you.
