Welcome back to Ann Arbor!  If you are coming from out of town, or even already in town and looking for activities during our 60th Reunion weekend, then here are some suggestions.

Thursday, July 27

  • Thursday Night Music: A2 Summer Streets -June 1, 2023 – August 31, 2023
    Location: Main Street Area 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Local musicians perform throughout the Main Street Area. Main street is blocked off to car traffic…only foot traffic allowed. Locations of musicians subject to change.

Friday, July 28

  • A casual pre-Reunion get-together for classmates at Buffalo Wild Wings (3150 Boardwalk Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48108) for those that are in town, from 4-6pm. This is a no-host, drop-in event (drinks and food available for purchase).  Look for us in the back private event room. Hope to see you there!

  • Blue Llama Jazz Club 314 S. Main St. phone 734 372-3200 $15 cover $35 cocktail table $85 show and dinner Early show 6:00 p.m. Late show 8:00p.m. Performing: Brandon Rose and Soul Therapy. Gospel roots create rhythm and blues and soul, with jazz, funk, hip hop, and R&B.

 

  • The Ark 316. Main St. 8:00 p.m. Cost: $20 Performing: Finvarra’s Wren. One of North America’s most exciting Irish quartets. A Detroit based family band. Jim Perkins and Cheryl Burns vocals and musicians. Jim plays guitar, Cheryl plays mountain dulcimer and bodhran. Their Son Asher plays button accordion and concertina, and daughter Alison plays fiddle and sings. They are sometimes joined by Alison’s husband, Nicolas Brown playing the uilleann pipes and flute.

  • Jazz at Weber’s Habitat Lounge 3050 Jackson Rd. 9:00 -11:00 p.m. Cost; Free. Singing bassist Rob Crozier leads a professional jazz quartet for a swinging funky night of music. Dancing is encouraged. (Also Saturday night)

Saturday, July 29

  • Blue Llama Jazz Club (information above) Performing: The Howard Levy 4. Show time: 8:30 – 10:30 p.m. (Cost is the same as Friday) Howard Levy is master of the diatonic harmonica, a superb pianist, composer, recording artist, bandleader, teacher and producer. He is joined by Chris Siebold on guitar, Josh Ramos upright and electric bass and Luiz Ewerling on drums.
  • The Ark (see location information above) Show time: 8:00 p.m. Cost: $20 Performing: “South For The Winter”. Dreamy acoustic duets, foot stomping folk and bluesy ballads. The band is composed of New Zealander, Nick Stone, Colorado native Dani Cichon, and Michigander Alex Stradal. They combine cello, guitar, mandolin and three-part harmonies into a great sound.
