Tappan Signs Courtesy of the Class of ’63

Finding your way around Tappan Middle School is no longer a hit and miss ordeal according to current Principal Roberta Heyward. You may recall that after last summer’s 55th Reunion, it was decided to donate our excess funds to Tappan and Slauson Middle Schools. The funds were the results of generous classmate’s donations to assist both teachers and classmates to attend the reunion.

After all of the bills were paid, we were left with a surplus and the Reunion Committee made the decision to donate to each of our junior high schools. At the suggestion of Slauson’s principal, Dr. Lisa Anglin, $500 was donated to the Athletic Department to assist in funding for pay to play sports. When we contacted the Tappan principal, Roberta Heyward, she stated that monies were needed to install direction signs at various locations throughout the building. As with Slauson, $500 was donated to Tappan. Thanks to all of those who were so thoughtful and generous.

From: Roberta Heyward and the Tappan community:

I wanted to share with you some pictures from the signs we had installed. Without the support of the Ann Arbor High School’s Class of 1963, we would not have been able to purchase these signs.  We are grateful that you considered us and for your support!
Thanks again,
Roberta Heyward and the Tappan Community
